Map to hot springs in Durango, Mexico.

Bringing Pets to Mexico

City in Mexico

Mexican hot springsĀ (aguas termalesĀ in Spanish) are my passion.Ā Durango, MexicoĀ has several hot springs. Some of them areĀ sulfurĀ (quite beneficial forĀ psoriasisĀ and arthritis). Others are composed of alkaline or a combination of salts. This hot springs map will tell you which ones are not worthĀ drivingĀ to, temperatures and how to get to the hard-to-find ones.

Mike Hot Springs Durango

Durango is the gateway to Mazatlan with the Baluarte Bridge.

What used to be an all-day, white-knuckle but scenic drive over El Espinazo del Diablo is now a mere four hours. But donā€™t just speed through Durango state. The hot springs, alpine lodges and birding and waterfalls make it worth a few days investigation.

Durango hot springs range contain sulfur, alkaline, salt as do many thermal waters from mining areas.

Since there are not many hot springs junkies and fewer who will drive to Durango state today, I stopped selling this map. You can, however, right click and save it to your hard drive for free.

Among the springs on thisĀ hot springs mapĀ are: Mezquital hot springs, Balneario La Joya de Atotonilco (near Mezquital) ā€“ both worth the trip, El Saltito Balneario, San Juan Navicoayan Balneario (near Nombre de Dios, Durango) ā€”Ā not worthĀ your time, La Concha (near Penon Blanco, Durango) ā€” sorta okay, but cool and one really worthwhile hot pool near Nuevo Ideal pr Papasquiaro, Durango. You can drive to most of these hot springs within a day of Durango City, except for the balnearios (hot pool) near Papasquiaro or Nuevo Ideal.Ā JacalaĀ balnearioĀ is a real jewel of a hot spring and youā€™ll need a whole day there.
