City in Mexico
WHY DID WE CHOOSE MEXICO
Mexico is our neighboring country and has a lot of influence in the United States. This fact alone increases the importance of learning Spanish to me. I have tried many times to learn, but always felt discouraged and ended up quitting. So I figured, what better way than complete immersion? Since the moment we arrived in Mexico, I have constantly been learning. Everyone has been very patient and helpful with my desire to learn Spanish.Ā Ā Mexico enticed us for the rich culture, exciting cuisine, and colorful architecture. What I found was that and so much more: beautiful landscapes, long-standing traditions, and the sweetest people you will ever meet.Ā
HELLO ADVENTURE SEEKERS
My name is Rebekah Mullinix! My husband, our dog, and I were feeling trapped by the strict covid restrictions at home, so we packed up our house and drove 2,600 miles from Nashville, TN toĀ Quintana Roo, Mexico.Ā I have been given an opportunity to share my journey with you and I hope to be a resource for you to give you valuable information.
WHY DID WE DRIVE TO MEXICO?
Driving gave us the opportunity to explore the hidden gems of Mexico one simply cannot experience when flying. While driving we saw a variety of landscapes and were often surprised by the diverse nature. One of my favorite memories was when we were driving in the mountains and came upon an incredible waterfall! We got to experience little towns, so full of life. Towns we never would have flown to, such as Escarcega. A quaint town with a family owned hotel and a welcoming host. The best part about driving is having the freedom and flexibility to follow your desires. When we saw an interesting stand on the side of the road, we stopped for some fresh juice and local snacks and when we wanted to stay an extra day in Veracruz to enjoy the markets and the beach, we were able to.
We have been in Mexico since February and have enjoyed many firsts. Our first time living at the beach, our first time driving through a foreign country, our first time traveling such a long way with a pet, and many more. Some experiences were smoother than others and I hope that by sharing my journey, you will feel confident knowing that you have the whole Mexinsurance team supporting you. Mexinsurance isnāt just in the insurance business, we pride ourselves on building relationships you can trust and count on. Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have! I am loving my adventure in Mexico and want you to as well.
