On the other hand, if you want a more serene holiday, come between November and April when temperatures are ideal for camping—sunny and warm during the day and comfortably cool in the evening. Although you can camp all over the beaches, look for areas with palm shelters and water taps that are maintained especially for beach campers.

Camping is so popular in San Felipe because there is so much to do and see in this charming town. Events like the spring Blues Festival is a popular draw to the area as are races like the Baja 1000 that passes near San Felipe. Shopping is a popular pastime and almost all shops and vendors accept U.S. dollars. Also, be sure to enjoy at least one meal of fish tacos; San Felipe is said to be the originator of the fish taco and there are plenty of fine restaurants to get them. Finally, you won’t go thirsty in this seaside town since most of the campgrounds feature a full bar. If you’re looking for a beach to sleep on in Mexico, San Felipe is a must-sleep destination!
