This Mexico RV Pacific Coast guide looks beyond Jalisco toward the beaches, surf towns, turtle sanctuaries, jungle-like forests, and quieter RV stops of Michoacán and Guerrero. This southern stretch receives far fewer visitors than the Puerto Vallarta corridor, but rewards experienced travelers with dramatic coastlines, better surf, fewer crowds, and a stronger sense of discovery.
RV Pro Tip: This route is best for confident Mexico travelers. Stick to daylight driving, use established RV parks, avoid random beach camping, and stay informed about local conditions before choosing your route.
MEX-200 Coastal Highway
MEX-200 follows the Pacific Coast through beach towns, palm forests, fishing villages, surf breaks, and long stretches where services are limited. It is slower, more rugged, and more rewarding than the heavily traveled resort corridors.
Why Go This Far South?
Surfers, birders, photographers, and adventurous RV travelers come for waves, turtle sanctuaries, coastal forests, quiet beaches, and places that still feel far removed from mass tourism.
